Shout out to Miro

Miro, is a tool, I was introduced during my design thinking journey. When I started using Miro, it was just a whiteboard with post-it notes. I had to create templates manually. It was fun, what a white canvas with unlimited post-its can do for your ideation exercises.

It is now a polished tool that supports innovation in all sizes.

  1. Need an individual brainstorm in a secluded place — Yes, you can.
  2. Want to plan a business strategy event with your peer group — Create a board, choose the templates, share the link.
  3. Want to work with remote teams and large teams — No sweat. Create a board, lock the portions using frames, choose the templates, download the plugins, share the link, use the timer, create breakout sections, move the pieces in the board effortlessly. Move the elements to other boards — same process, all in an instant.

Tools are effective if they just teach you along the way, rather than ask for a learning curve. Miro is easy to get started and getting to the pro stage is by working with it, not by “learning” it at once.

Tools exist to get the job done in your style and should get out of the way. Miro is effortless to bring collaborators to the platform with the least instructions — All that is to explain to get started is, pick a note, start sharing. Rest all are sugary flavors in the canvas.

What I like is the evolution of Miro as a tool. Am not an insider to know how they have the right vision and the right priorities to enhance the tool, but as a user, I can vouch that they have the bright minds and the right managers to bring what is required to conduct large whiteboard sessions virtually, together and have fun doing it.

I am a fan of Miro and highly recommend giving it a spin. Am sure you will be a convert like me to make it the best tool in your arsenal.
